it doesn’t have to be a driver’s license, it can be any photo id showing your date of birth

To prove that you’re old enough to consume liquor.

The most common form of your age drivers license you just need identification and proof of this you just need identification and proof of this you can get an id or passport to buy alcohol as well.

For most people that is drivers license.

This could be a birth certificate, a drivers license, a passport, adoption papers, a certificate of citizenship, a Connecticut Pistol Permit… etc, hundreds!
