Is it common to be able to buy an alcoholic drink in a dry county?

September 30th, 2009
brooke asked:

Jonesboro, Arkansas is in a dry county. There are no liquor stores, but you can buy an alcoholic drink at a private club in Jonesboro. Several restaurants have obtained private club status in order to sale alcoholic beverages. Does this happen often? I always thought dry county meant you could not purchase alcohol in that county.

If sale of Marihuana is funding terrorism, why don’t they legalize pot?

September 25th, 2009
Cuddly_Bear asked:

That way the government could earn money off the sale and regulate it. Who would want to deal with criminals if you could buy it in a pharmacy or liquor store?
To the person claiming legalization would not give the government any money… first off: Growing it yourself is probably a great thing, however, how many people actually take the time to brew their own beer even though it is very much legal to do so? The end result is not what you get in the store anyhow.

Secondly: yes they would get sales tax, less resources spent on fighting a battle against soft drug that is less dangerous than alcohol and less people incarcerated over it. Which means these people can work and pay tax as well as not being locked up in a prison with guards on the governmental payroll.

Thirdly: Alcohol is legal to possess, drink and sell.

How much does Blavod vodka normally cost?

September 21st, 2009
Kevin R asked:

I bought a 1.75 liter of Blavod vodka last night for $11.95 on sale at MGM and i’m starting to think i got a really good deal on it. I also feel like they might have messed up the sale price because a couple weeks ago they accidentally put the sale price for jameson whiskey as $13 a liter (we bought 3). Does anybody know how much a 1.75 liter of blavod vodka normally costs?

Sugary, heavy chocolate rum cake?

September 21st, 2009
pachl@sbcglobal.net asked:

When I lived in the States, I used to buy these delicious “Effie Marie” rum cakes from Marshall Fields in Chicago.

Getting a good one was “hit or miss”. Depending on the luck of the draw, some were really laden with lots of rum and sugar, which was great. Others were lighter and had less rum and sugar. They were dry and more bland.

I like a chocolate rum cake that is really moist, with a heavy flavor of rum mixed with sugar. I don’t want coconut or other ingredients. I like the chocolate-rum-sugar combination.

Anyone have a good recipe?

This is about selling liquor.and if this statement is true

September 17th, 2009
jattvellya asked:

ok i was searching the web to see if you can sell liquor at the age of 18 and i found this….

“In package stores employees ages 17 and younger may sell only if directly supervised by someone at least 21; otherwise 18. Employees in premises that sell alcohol and gasoline must be 21 for sales between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.”

does that mean a 18 year old can sell liquor without being supervised….

Can a 18 year old sell BEER at the age of 18?

And I’m taking about selling them in a liquor store…not a bar or restaurant but a liquor store
And also whats this thing called and what does it mean “;” im taking about ( ; )

Does beer really have less calories than say rum or vodka?

September 05th, 2009
maat13101 asked:

I have been trying to loose a few pounds and one of the ways I am doing that is buy giving up my Captain Morgans and Diet Coke and my Skydrivers, and switching to beer.

It seems to be working, as I have lost 5 lbs in about 10 days, but I don’t know how much is the diet and how much is the switch in booze?
I seem to have a high tollerance for carbs, meaning my body seems to burn carbs way faster than most, so I don’t usually look at carbs.

Rum&Coke - Premixed or Home-made?

September 01st, 2009
nonono asked:

Which is better, buying pre-mixed rum and coke in a can, or buying coke and rum separately and mixing them together yourself? What is the best rum to use, and how much of each?
Here in Australia they sell it in pre-mixed cans, they use a generic cola, but it is still called ‘Rum&Coke’.
